These are our freeride touring skis and they are suitable for most kinds of conditions. Although being light and made as a touring ski, they are stiff and will handle high-speed and difficult snow conditions very well. The skis are handcrafted in Oppdal, Norway at the Evi/Prog ski factory.
The ski core is made of high-quality ash and aspen full-length wood, mainly from Norway. It has a channel construction with a thicker outer coat and is reinforced with eight layers of unidirectional carbon fiber. The full-length wood is pressed to the shape of the skis, which provides excellent strength, maneuverability, and durability.
The steel edges are premium 1,8 mm Rockwell48 steel made in Europe and provide great grip and maneuverability on hard surfaces. The unique Viking helmet tip cuts efficiently through the pow and provides extra durability.
The skis are fully equipped with carbon compression bars and extra carbon edges under the foot. A full mounting surface provides extra strength.
The base is a 1,2 mm premium black sintered UHMWPE base made in Europe, and it’s easy to maintain and can also be repaired and replaced.
They are near flat under the foot and the shape is a long rockered front – and back ski and a long bend in the tail to allow switch skiing. The skis also have inserts for nockers (weights) which helps to reduce vibration when the going gets rough.
The waist is great for powder snow, yet they are light compared to their measurement because of the carbon construction. The skis will work great with a light touring rig.

Since the skis are handmade, the production capacity and availability are limited. All skis are created one by one, and the development of this ski is done through years of testing both by Evi/Prog Skis and Norrøna staff. Jørgen Jørgensen, owner and CEO of Norrøna, has been using Prog skis for more than 10 years.
